His program from 06-24-10 was pretty remarkable. He discussed how communism, as an ideology, didn’t evaporate into the ether when the Berlin Wall was torn down. He played video clips from Ezra Taft Benson who was Secretary of Agriculture under Eisenhower and an outspoken opponent of collectivism of all stripes.
Beck also interviewed M. Stanton Evans, longtime conservative journalist who wrote the definitive book on the McCarthy era a few years ago called “Blacklisted by History”. By the way, M. Stanton Evan’s father, Medford Evans, was an editor of the John Birch Society magazine, American Opinion, for many years.
Beck said that he first tried reading Evan’s book on McCarthy about 3 years ago, but he couldn’t finish it. He said he couldn’t bring himself to believe that there could exist an entire network bent on destroying American from within.
But what worries me is how the knee-jerk conservative can watch Beck’s stuff without understanding the danger to liberty and betrayals lurking within his own worldview.
Fight for Hearts and Minds
Philip Dru: Administrator by Edward Mandell House
Edward Mandell House wrote “Philip Dru: Administrator”, where he stated that he was working for “socialism as dreamed of by Karl Marx.” Pres. Woodrow Wilson described Edward Mandell House as his “alter ego” (his other self). Woodrow Wilson, U.S. President said: “Since I entered politics, I have chiefly had men’s views confided to me privately. Some of the biggest men in the United States, in the field of commerce and manufacture are afraid of something. They know that there is a power somewhere so organized, so subtle, so watchful, so interlocked, so complete, so pervasive, that they better not speak above their breath when they speak in condemnation of it.” –1913 also “I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated governments in the world…no longer a government of free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and duress of small groups of dominant men.” Woodrow Wilson
Much of the comment on this message is an attack on the messenger.
Quoting something that is true,
does not make one responsible for everything else that
the source has ever done, or said.
Have we become so unconcerned about the truth that
we will only tell the truth when it supports some other bias?
Great minds discuss ideas.
Average minds discuss events
Small minds discuss people.
Attacks on the messenger do not refute the message.
No matter how much of what a person says is false,
we should admit the truth in one particular message,
when that particular message is the truth.
There is a widespread opinion that Glenn Beck is a shill, who is trying to take over the freedom movement.
There is widespread unmitigated fury over the way that Glenn Beck treated Ron Paul and Debra Medina.
There is a widespread opinion that Glenn Beck could not possibly be at odds with his boss, Rupert Murdock, who is a member of the CFR.
No attempt to refute any of those positions is being made here.
We simply present this program,
because this program tells the truth.
Nothing is true because of who it is that said it.
Nothing is false because of who it is that said it.
Those who care about the truth must rise above
making an issue of the messenger.
This is not about Glenn Beck.
It is about the message.
Glenn Beck IS NOT EVEN THE SOURCE.
Other sources were stated.
We might not agree with what Martin Luther King said,
but we should admit that he was right when he said this:
“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere”
SO WHAT IF SOMETHING ELSE THAT BECK SAID WAS WRONG?
Folks, WE HAVE ALREADY SEEN THE VIDEO FROM Alex Jones:
“Glenn Beck “Be On The Right-Side Of History!”
If you have not, here it is:
That does not mean that this particular show program, from 06-24-10, should not be seen.
